Applying Color to Visual Analytics in Data Science

DataBytes is an NCDS-sponsored lunchtime webinar series that gives our members and the larger data community the chance to discuss the most pressing and interesting issues in data science. Webinars are generally held on the first Wednesday of every month, excluding January and July. All webinars are easily accessible from the NCDS homepage and from this page.

For the January talk, Theresa-Marie Rhyne, visualization consultant, will present on applying color to visual analytics in data science. 

Abstract: Theresa-Marie Rhyne will talk about how to use the concepts of color theory and harmony in creating visual analytics associated with data science. She will show how to use free online and mobile apps to aid in the color scheme selection process. Theresa-Marie is the author of the book Applying Color Theory to Digital Media and Visualization from CRC Press and has given tutorials on the subject at IEEE VIS, ACM SIG CHI and ACM SIGGRAPH conferences.
