The NCDS DataBytes Webinar Series is an ongoing lunchtime webinar series that gives our members and the larger data community the chance to discuss the most pressing and interesting issues in data science. Webinars are generally held on the first Wednesday of every month, excluding July. All webinars are easily accessible from the NCDS homepage and from this page. Talks generally last 30 to 45 minutes, followed by Q and A, and conclude no later than 1 p.m.

The August Webinar features Reagan Moore, the Renaissance Computing Institute’s chief data scientist for Data Intensive Cyber Environments, discussing policy-based data management.

Talk Description: Data science has two traditional foci – Data Analytics and Data Management.  Data Analytics investigates analysis methods.  Data Management investigates the organization of data for a specific purpose.  In this talk, policy-based data management infrastructure will be explored as a way to assemble distributed data collections.
