Data Scientistas of the Triangle are invited to empower each other to reach our potential. What is the joy we find in data? What in our educational background led us to data? What affect does gender have? How are our careers going? What would we like to advocate for? How can we support one another? What wider impact do we hope to have?

The Data + Women + Triangle kickoff features the following panelists:

•  Rachael Brady is a technical lead in Engineering at Cisco Systems where she is responsible for creating a software ecosystem that incorporates data capture, organization, analysis, and visualization to Cisco’s internal test driven development activities.

Tanya Scott has over sixteen years’ experience in industry and higher education, encompassing education, project management, curriculum and instructional design, emerging technologies, and grant-related activities. She’s the Director of Business Analytics and Associate Dean of Business and Public Services at Wake Technical Community College.

• Melodie Moorefield-Wilson builds and maintains data visualization dashboards for Issuer Direct Corporation, including the CEO, CFO, VP of Sales, and each department manager.

• Melinda Thielbar specializes in statistical methods for consumer research and categorical data, though she has worked in fields as far ranging as naval power system analysis, fraud detection, and Hollywood script consulting.

After the panel and small group discussion, attendees will discuss practical ways to support one another going forward.

Hosts include the team at  ICIMO (Jennifer Gartner,Kimberly Brighton, and Greg Lewandowski) and Tableau.
